'Apostolic'-Related
Teachings or Expositories
There are quite a number of issues that can be thought of as
related
to apostolic. The following are links to teachings or expositories
that are either directly about the apostolic, or concerning apostolic
issues
as best as we can discern according to Jesus's instructions to the
apostles
in the Gospels, and secondarily to what we observe of the New Testament
apostles in their writings in their epistles. NOTE: None of these links will direct you to those who
advertise
their 'apostleship'!

The opening states: "This is a
relatively
short comment
of some of the characteristics observed by reading the salutation by
Paul
to the Romans in the book of the same name with some insights from his
writings to the Corinthians and to the church at Ephesus.
It’s not necessarily
complete or definitive. Just an observation of some of the more obvious
traits of Paul the apostle."
New
Wave?Apostles and
Prophets by Teri

prophecies
and warnings which led to brief
exposures and
discussion
of the teachings and proclaimations of the
popularized "third wave" group

Apostolic Reformation. Updates added.)

Authority, Accountability, and the Apostolic MovementBook description: There
is a new apostolic movement afoot, and it is leading many from the
simplicity of the pure gospel. To be legitimate, the teaching emphasis
and ministry expression of present-day apostles and prophets must reflect
a correct gospel foundation:
Instead,
the new apostolic reformation movement, with its emphasis on
apostolic authority, “spiritual covering,” loyalty, honor, submission,
and government, has become the vehicle to build the philosophies and
kingdoms of men.
Dr. Stephen Crosby’s third book,
Authority, Accountability, and the Apostolic Movement, probes these and
other authority/submission issues from a biblically disciplined,
Christ-centered, New Covenant perspective. Within these
pages, every believer, church leader, apostle, or prophet who may have
wandered from the simplicity of the gospel can find the road to
recovery.
This is the only printed book on this subject that we recommend. It is useful for all groups.

Apostles--History:
We should remember that apostleship, even more than
the other
'equipper'
ministries, but can be expected to be "last of all" in the
parade
before the world, sacrificing for the sake of others who may give no
deserved
honor (1 Corinth. 4:9-13). For some historical information
about
'the rest of the story' of the original apostles of the New Testament,
see COUNTING THE COST by
George Kirkpatrick. The
account of their deaths and sufferings might also be found in the
classic
Foxe's Book of Martyrs. See also, see
